Who are we?

You’ve probably guessed that here at The Mortgage Exchange we have been making some big technological changes recently, yes I know it’s taken us a little longer than everyone else but we are getting there!

We’ve got a new website, Facebook, Twitter (or Twotter as some of our office folk like to call it) and of course this blog. Internally we have also been making some big changes to our emailing systems to bring us fully into the digital age.

Here we have taken some time out to tell you a little bit about ourselves and what we do.

Barry Fitzgerald

“I’ve worked in the financial sector for over 20 years and set up The Mortgage Exchange almost 20 years ago. Since then I have been an independent Mortgage Broker, helping thousands of people achieve their dream of home ownership. The customer is always at the heart of everything I do and I ensure they obtain and remain on the most competitive mortgage rates available on the market”.

“Together with my husband, Barry, I have been at The Mortgage Exchange for almost 20 years as the office manager. The boys may think they run the show but I’m the real boss!”

Julian Newman

“I joined The Mortgage Exchange as a self employed broker last May. With over 28 yrs man and boy at a national high street bank as a commercial business manager I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to ensure our clients obtain the very best deals not only for residential business but also from the commercial lenders adding further depth to the services we offer”.

Kirsty Calcott

“At 24 years old I am the youngest member of The Mortgage Exchange and as the Daughter of Dee and Barry I have spent a lot of time in the office. I am also the newest member of the team and the next generation and it is my mission to bring the rest screaming and kicking into the digital age. I have a first class honours degree in Psychology from the University of Southampton and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from Bath Spa University. After deciding teaching isn’t for me I have made a radical change and decided to come on board the family business as a trainee mortgage broker. The next generation indeed!”
